Video production for architecture and engineering practices in Saxony

Saxony asks planning practices for two extremes in one state: cleanrooms measured in micrometres and heritage measured by survey. Both need explaining, and neither is visible in the finished result.

Cleanroom and heritage: very little in between is ordinary

Behind the scenes of a Mastlicht Media film production

Around Dresden, semiconductor production is being built at a scale rarely seen in Europe. The engineering behind it works with tolerances, vibration control and media supply that nobody outside the field can place. Practices planning this hold an argument that stays incomprehensible without images.

The counterpoint stands in Leipzig, Dresden and Görlitz: building in historic fabric, often listed, often with a structure that reveals its surprises only once opened. Add strong universities producing graduates everyone then wants to hire.

What we produce for practices in Saxony

Concept, shoot, edit, grade and sound all happen in house. One point of contact, no chain.

Practice portrait

Shows your specialism. Where few can do the work, that is exactly what wins the commission.

Construction documentation

From shell to commissioning. It records what disappears behind cladding and the cleanroom envelope.

Employer branding

You compete for Saxon graduates with corporate groups. A film in which your team speaks lands differently from a careers portal.

Assets from one production

Explainers, stills, short cuts. From the same shooting day, without an extra date.

Let’s get going

Comparable work

We produce across Germany, but our work for the building sector so far has mostly been made in Hesse. We make no claim to a reference in Saxony. What transfers is how we work in sensitive environments.

What we stand for

  • Honest and transparent communication
  • Creative media campaigns from a single source
  • A precise balance between creativity, real-world use and realistic economics

What sets us apart

Cinema quality. Costed with a clear head.

Film industry standard meets a lean, vertically integrated production setup. That is what makes quality affordable. What others outsource at a premium has long been part of our team. It saves time, it saves money, and you can see it in the result.

Stories that stick.

Cinematic DNA in short formats. We condense messages down to what matters. Precise, emotionally charged and built on real narrative craft. Advertising that isn’t just watched, but felt.

From Gen Z. For every audience.

We speak today’s visual language – fluently and by conviction. From elaborate corporate films through lean video productions to high-energy content for social media, we know exactly what earns attention. Made by a young team that grew up with the “cloud”. Effective for every audience, every format, every platform.

QUALITY and SERVICE are written in capitals here.

No project is finished until both we and our clients are happy with it. That is why you will find no small print limiting the number of revisions. We are convinced that clear, transparent communication, a structured briefing and the shared ambition to create something lasting and convincing make clauses like that unnecessary.

Services at a glance

Our focus is outstanding audio-visual film, video and photo production for the construction, architecture and building services (MEP) sector. But we think beyond the camera. Through our established network of experts and partners we open up additional touchpoints for your company: from corporate websites and digital project presentations through trade fair appearances and print to targeted LinkedIn marketing for the construction industry. Together we work out which channels and formats reach your clients, investors and future specialists most effectively – and we bring the right specialists to the table to deliver the project to our quality standard.

Travel and the shooting day

Hanau to Leipzig is about three and a half hours, Dresden a good hour further. We always travel the evening before. That is not comfort. It is the only way to be on site at sunrise, and the first hour is visually the best of the day.

On projects with cleanliness requirements we plan from the outset with reduced kit: camera and optics instead of a lighting setup, cleaned equipment, no cable runs across circulation areas. Whatever is not permitted we replace with footage from prefabrication. Often that is the more telling setting anyway.

Our client has imposed confidentiality. Is a film possible at all?

Usually yes, if the framework is agreed first. We work with approval lists: what may be shown is fixed in advance, the rest is not filmed at all. A review before publication is standard on projects like these.

Can your equipment go into a cleanroom or a cleanroom-adjacent zone?

Into adjacent zones usually yes, with cleaned kit and no rigging. For the cleanroom itself the operator decides. Where it is not possible we film prefabrication and installation instead. That often explains the work better.

We are planning the refurbishment of a listed building. Do we need a permit for filming?

For filming itself usually not, but for what we may do while doing it: no drilling, no adhesive marks, no lighting with heat load on sensitive surfaces. Any conditions from the heritage authority we take from you before the shoot.

What should we expect this to cost?

The large majority of our projects sit in the mid four-figure to low five-figure range. Travel and accommodation appear as their own line in the quote, not hidden inside an inflated day rate.

Maximilian Priess

Managing Director and Director

Cinema has fascinated us since childhood – not just as a medium, but as a total work of art. The interplay of every craft involved, the precision in the detail, the passion behind every frame: those are exactly the values we took as the foundation of Mastlicht Media, and we keep building on them every day. Seeing how this medium, combined with our craft, creates lasting value for our clients is what excites me anew every single day.
