Erfurt, Weimar and Gotha are cities where almost every commission means building within existing fabric: timber frame, nineteenth-century blocks, grown town centres. That is design work with surprises that appear only once things are opened, and with the heritage authority at the table.
Alongside sits industry: optics, precision mechanics and medical technology need specialist buildings with demanding requirements for vibration, climate and cleanliness. Short distances, small crew
Thuringia is easy to reach from Hanau: Eisenach and Gotha in just under two hours, Erfurt and Weimar in about two and a half to three, Jena and Gera slightly more. In the west and centre of the state a shooting day works without an overnight stay, and that shows in the quote.
We film as a pair. On an old-town site that is not modesty but necessity: in a lane without vehicle access, what counts is what two people can carry. For filming from public space we arrange parking and closures with you and the city beforehand.

Let’s get goingOur practice principal dislikes being on camera. Does the film work without her?
Yes, through staff, clients and the work itself. One observation from many first shooting days: most of those who waved it away beforehand end up talking about their projects for twenty minutes. So we place the interview in the middle of the day, not at the start.
We are a small practice. Is this worth it at all?
Especially then. Small practices gain because people can see who works there. Large ones tend to look interchangeable on camera. The scope follows your size, not a standard package.
No vehicle can reach our old-town site. Is that a problem?
No, that is what the small crew is for. We carry the kit and work without rigging. What we need to know beforehand is the route to the door and whether there is power on site. Both are settled on the phone.
What sort of budget are we talking about?
The large majority of our projects sit in the mid four-figure to low five-figure range. In western Thuringia the overnight stay falls away, which noticeably lowers it. We give you the range in the first conversation.
