Two coasts, one energy transition
Sitting between two seas determines the building tasks. Coastal protection and hydraulic engineering, ports and shipyards, plus clinics and tourism projects that must be finished between two seasons. For engineering practices that is specialist knowledge which a brochure explains badly.
Then there is grid expansion. Schleswig-Holstein generates more electricity than it consumes, and the engineering behind that runs from substations to transmission routes. Again: the result later stands in the landscape, the achievement sits in the design work before it. That is precisely what can be filmed.

Travel and weather
From Hanau am Main to the Schleswig-Holstein coast is a full day of travel. So we travel the day before and are ready on site in the morning. That way we catch the first light, which on this coast is the best of the day anyway.
More important than the distance is the agreement about weather. Before we travel we fix when an exterior day stops making sense and what gets filmed instead. For drone work the limit is technical and clear. We do not debate it on the day; we settle it beforehand.

Let’s get goingWhat happens if there is a gale on the shooting day?
Then the plan we agreed beforehand applies: interviews, interiors, details indoors. Exteriors and aerials move. Because we travel the day before anyway, the day can usually be rebuilt rather than cancelled.
We are working on a dyke or near the national park. Are you allowed to film there?
On the ground usually yes, in coordination with the operator. In national park and protected areas drone flights are heavily restricted, especially in breeding and resting seasons. We clear that before fixing dates.
Our tourism projects are only accessible outside the season. Does that work?
Yes, if you name the window early. We plan the production around it. A hotel conversion due at the end of March does not get filmed in early April. Otherwise you wait a year for the same stage.
What should we expect this to cost?
The large majority of our projects sit in the mid four-figure to low five-figure range. Travel and accommodation stand beside that as separate items. We give you the range in the first conversation.
